Design a Form with Process Builder
Create a new form end-to-end — Basic Info, Layout Settings, Submission Settings, sections, and fields.
Before you start
- You have a business process you want to turn into a form
- You know what questions you need to ask the submitter
What you'll achieve
- A working form, ready to be linked to a workflow and activated
Create the form
1
Open Process Builder
Go to PulseFlow › Process Builder. Click Add in the top bar.
2
Basic Info
The Basic Info tab collects core metadata — Form Name, Section (a grouping/category), Description, Select Module (which product area this form belongs to), and an Active toggle.
3
Layout Settings
Open Layout Settings. Choose a Width Type (Fixed 900px, Full Width, or Custom with a specific max width), and pick Form Density (e.g. Comfortable) to control spacing.
4
Submission Settings
In Submission Settings, use Select Workflow to pick the approval chain that runs on submit, and type a Success Message shown to the submitter after a successful submission.
5
Save
Click Save. The form now appears in your workflow list, ready for sections and fields.
Add sections and fields
Open the form from the list. On the left, add a Section (a visual group like Personal Details, Approver Input). Under each section, click Add Field Here to insert a field. Choose a type from the 24+ field types available. Set the Question Properties panel on the right for each field — label, helper text, required flag, validation, and conditional logic.
On this screen
Use Preview in the top bar to see what the submitter sees before you publish. Preview also validates required fields and conditional logic without creating real submissions.
Frequently asked
Can I clone an existing form?
Yes. Use the duplicate action on a form in the Process Builder list — fields and layout are copied; you still need to link a workflow.
Can I make a field appear only when another field has a specific value?
Yes — conditional logic is configured under Question Properties when a field is selected.
What happens if I deactivate a form?
Existing submissions remain accessible. Employees cannot initiate new submissions until you re-activate it.
