Link a Workflow to a Form

After you build a form in Process Builder and a workflow in Workflow Builder, connect them so submissions are routed for approval.

Before you start
  • You have a form and a workflow built separately
  • You want submissions to trigger the approval chain
What you'll achieve
  • A form that, on submit, routes into the correct workflow

Where the link lives

The connection between a form and its approval chain lives on the Submission Settings tab of the form inside Process Builder. One form links to one workflow.

Make the link

Open the form
Navigate to PulseFlow › Process Builder, open your form.

Open Submission Settings
Click the Submission Settings tab.

Select the workflow
Use the Select Workflow dropdown to pick the workflow you built in Workflow Builder. Only workflows whose Module matches your form’s module appear.

Add a success message
Type a short Success Message that will display to the submitter after a successful submission.

Save
Click Save. From this point, every new submission enters the linked workflow.
On this screen
Changing the linked workflow does <strong>not</strong> retroactively re-route in-flight submissions. They complete against the workflow that was linked when they were submitted.
Frequently asked
My workflow does not show in the dropdown — why?
The workflow’s Module must match the form’s Module. Open the workflow in Workflow Builder and check its Module setting.
Can I remove the link?
Yes, but the form will reject submissions until a workflow is linked. Better to replace rather than clear.
Can I link the same workflow to multiple forms?
Yes. A workflow can serve as the approval chain for as many forms as share the same shape.
