Short Time Off Configuration
Short Time Off(Permission)
Navigate to Settings → CoreHR → Time off- Short Time off(Permission)
You have two options for configuring permissions.
By Request – Employees are allowed to apply for permission a maximum of 2 times in a month.
By Duration – Permissions can be set with a minimum and maximum allowable duration, as defined by your policy.
To configure, click the Edit icon on the right-hand side and update your policy settings.
You can select the coverage for the permission policy configuration: it can be applicable to all employees or a custom group of employees.
You can also configure the Activation After setting to specify when the policy will become effective.

Fields Description
Title | Description |
Minimum Duration per Request
| It defines the shortest time period an employee can apply for when raising a permission request. Any request submitted below this minimum duration will not be accepted by the system. |
Maximum Duration Per Request
| It defines the longest time period an employee can apply for when raising a permission request. Any request exceeding this maximum duration will not be accepted by the system. |
Total Duration
| This setting specifies the maximum cumulative time an employee can avail for permissions within a defined period |
Maximum Request | This setting defines the maximum number of times an employee can submit a permission request within a defined period (e.g., per month, per quarter, per half year;y, per annum). Any requests beyond this limit will be automatically restricted by the system. |
Enforce Alternate Person | If this flag is enabled, employees must select an alternate person for their work when applying for a permission request in ESS. The request cannot be submitted unless an alternate approver is chosen, ensuring that all requests are routed properly and approvals are not delayed. |
Coverage for Alternate Person | In the permission request form, the Alternate Person dropdown can be configured to display: Department Level – Only employees associated with the same department as the requester will be listed. Organization Level – All employees across the organization will be listed, allowing selection from any department.

Short Time Off(On Duty)
Navigate to Settings → CoreHR → Time Off → Short Time Off (On Duty).
Click the Edit icon on the right-hand side.
Update the coverage for the policy to either All Employees or a Custom Group.
Note: There are no request or duration restrictions in the On Duty configuration.
