If this flag is enabled, employees must select an alternate person for their work when applying for a permission request in ESS. The request cannot be submitted unless an alternate approver is chosen, ensuring that all requests are routed properly and approvals are not delayed.

In the permission request form, the Alternate Person dropdown can be configured to display:

  • Department Level – Only employees associated with the same department as the requester will be listed.

  • Organization Level – All employees across the organization will be listed, allowing selection from any department.
