BEFORE YOU BEGIN

Prerequisites

  • Admin access to Settings → CoreHR → Pre-Approvals
  • Approval workflow defined (reporting manager / HR / dept head)
  • Employees onboarded in ESS
  • Clear org policy on which activities need pre-approval
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE

  • WFH, overtime, and off-day work authorized before it happens
  • Attendance and payroll reflect only approved activities

This feature allows the organization to define whether specific request types—Work From Home (WFH), Work During Week Off, Work During Holiday, Overtime Work and On Duty (OD)—require prior approval from the reporting manager or higher authority before employees can submit or perform these actions.

Work From Home(WFH)

Pre-approval for Work From Home ensures that employees obtain prior authorization from their reporting manager before working remotely.Once approved, employees can log their attendance as “Work From Home” on the designated dates.

Work During Week Off

Pre-approval for Work During Week Off is required when employees need to work on their scheduled weekly off day. 

Work During Holiday

Pre-approval for Work During Holiday ensures that employees receive authorization before performing work on an official holiday.

Overtime Work

Pre-approval for Overtime Work allows managers to approve extra working hours before the employee performs them. This ensures that overtime is scheduled, justified, and within organizational policy limits. It supports accurate payroll calculations and prevents unauthorized overtime claims.

On Duty(OD)

Pre-approval for On Duty is required when employees need to perform official work outside the office premises, such as client visits, training, or field assignments. This approval validates that the employee’s external work hours are recognized as official duty and are included in attendance records accurately.


TIP

Five pre-approval types: WFH, Work During Week Off, Work During Holiday, Overtime Work, and On Duty (OD). Each is independently configurable with its own coverage, period caps, and approval workflow.
