Leave Settings
Configure the core behaviors for your leave module — approval workflow, comment enforcement, and alternate-person coverage during absences.
Settings → CoreHR → Time Off → Leave

- Organization department structure in place
- Approval workflow defined (if enabling workflow)

Leave Settings Screen
The Leave Settings screen is where administrators control how leave applications are processed. Toggle each flag to match your organization’s approval policy, comment requirements, and alternate-coverage rules.

Fields Description
Each field below controls a specific aspect of the leave application flow. Enable only the settings that align with your organization’s leave policy.
| Field | Description |
|---|
| Enable Workflow | Enabling this flag ensures that the leave application follows the predefined approval workflow. |
| Enforce Comment for Approval | Enabling this flag requires approvers to provide a comment when approving or rejecting a leave request. |
| Enforce Alternate Person for Leave Application | When enabled, employees must specify an alternate person who will cover their responsibilities during their leave. |
| Coverage for Alternate Person for Leave Application | Enabling this flag ensures that the Alternate Person dropdown in the leave application displays either:
• Only employees from the same department as the applicant, or • The entire organization’s employee list, based on the organization’s configuration settings. |
💡 TIP
Changes to these settings apply to all future leave applications. Existing pending requests continue under the configuration they were submitted with.
