How to Manually Adjust Employee Leave with Leave Override

CoreHR → Time Off Management → Leave Override

The Leave Override feature allows administrators to adjust an employee's leave balance beyond the standard eligibility rules or adjust with the current leave eligibility. This can be applied in cases where:
  1. Carry Over Adjustment: If the carry-over leave balance is less or more than the actual eligible carry-over, HR can override the balance.
  2. Current Leave Eligibility Adjustment: Even after an employee utilizes a leave type, HR can increase or decrease the leave balance beyond the system-calculated eligibility.
Leave Override Process

  1. Select the appropriate leave type for a specific employee and click Edit.
  2. If the Carry Over Policy is applicable for the selected leave type, both Current Leave Eligibility and Carry Over Balance fields will be open for override.
  3. If the Carry Over Policy is not applicable, only the Current Leave Eligibility field will be available for override.
  4. When reducing the Current Leave Eligibility, ensure it does not fall below the already taken leave balance.
  5. Adjust the balance as needed and click Save.
  6. The updated leave balance will be visible to employees in the ESS portal.
  7. All leave overrides are recorded in the Leave Override History for tracking purposes.
