Pre-Approval Configuration
Define each pre-approval type (Work From Home, On Duty, Overtime, etc.) with coverage, period caps, max days per request, advance notification, and approval workflow — all from Settings → CoreHR.

Prerequisites
- Admin access to Settings → CoreHR → Pre-Approvals
- Organizational policy on pre-approval types and limits
- Approval workflow defined (RM, Dept Head, HR)
- Custom groups created if limiting coverage
WHAT YOU'LL ACHIEVE
Outcome
- Pre-approval types live and selectable in ESS
- Request caps enforced per period (weekly / monthly / yearly)
- Max days per request prevent abuse
- Advance notification requirement in place
Navigate to Settings → CoreHR → Pre-Approvals.
To configure, click the +Add Configuration button on the right-hand side and update the policy settings.
You can define the following parameters based on your organization’s policy: Pre-approval type, Coverage, Number of pre-approval requests per period, Maximum days allowed per request, Approval Workflow and Advance Notification.

Pre-Approval Type
| Select the type such as Work From Home, On Duty, Work During Week Off, Work During Holiday, or Overtime.

Coverage
| Specify whether the configuration applies to the entire organization or to a specific group of employees.

Period
| It defines the time frame within which the system tracks and limits the number of pre-approval requests an employee can submit.(Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Half Yearly and Yearly)

No of Pre-approval Request
| Set the maximum number of requests allowed within a defined period (e.g., per month).
|
Max Days Allowed Per Request
| Define how many days can be covered in a single pre-approval request.
|
Advance Notification
| It allows the admin to define how far in advance an employee must submit a pre-approval request before the scheduled date of activity.

Workflow Approval
| Configure the approval hierarchy, such as Reporting Manager, Department Head, or HR.

TIP
Advance Notification: Use this to prevent last-minute requests. For example, set 2 days for Work From Home so employees must plan ahead, or 7 days for Work During Holiday to give the team enough lead time.
NOTE
Period + Count together: The "No of Pre-approval Request" cap is evaluated within the "Period" you pick. Setting Period = Monthly and count = 4 means up to 4 requests of that type per calendar month.
