No Attendance
Resolve days where both check-in and check-out are missing — initiate unpaid leave (LOP) or auto-mark attendance based on the assigned work schedule.

Before You Start
- Attendance enforcement configuration in place (required for LOP initiation)
- Work schedules assigned to every employee under review
- HR Admin role with access to Attendance Finalization

Overview
Days with both missed check-in and check-out land in this tab. You have two levers: initiate Loss of Pay, or auto-mark attendance against the schedule.
Available Actions
Pick the one that matches the situation.
Action 1 · LOP
Initiate Loss of Pay
Select the missed records and click Initiate Loss of Pay. This creates unpaid leave (LOP) for employees with incomplete attendance or leave records. Required when attendance enforcement is on; optional otherwise.
Action 2 · Auto-mark
Initiate Attendance
Select the missed records and click Initiate Attendance to mark attendance based on the assigned schedule. A 9-to-5 shift produces a 9:00 AM check-in and a 5:00 PM check-out that reflects on the Attendance tab.
On This Screen
The list shows employee, date, work schedule, and an Action button. Multi-select the records you want to process, then trigger LOP or auto-mark.

Export Attendance Finalization
HR Admin users can export the incomplete or missed attendance data to a spreadsheet for detailed review.

Incomplete Attendance Records
Click the three-dot menu on the right-hand side and choose Export Incomplete Attendance to download to Excel.

No Attendance Records
Click the three-dot menu and choose Export Missed Attendance & Leave to get the dataset as Excel.

Tip
When attendance enforcement is active, LOP initiation is required — no missed-attendance record should be left pending before running payroll.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I pick Initiate Attendance vs. LOP?
Use Initiate Attendance when the employee genuinely worked but punches didn't register (e.g., biometric failure). Use LOP when the employee was absent without leave.
What if some employees applied for leave that didn't sync?
Check the Leave Request module first — if leave is approved but not flowing to attendance, don't initiate LOP. Escalate the sync issue instead.
Can an Initiate Attendance record be reverted?
An Admin can edit the punches through the correction flow, or an employee can raise regularization. The auto-initiated record isn't locked.
Does LOP initiation affect leave balances?
LOP is unpaid leave — it doesn't debit the paid-leave balance. It impacts gross pay for the affected days in payroll.
