What is an Early Check-Out?
Early Check-Out is a day where an employee logs out before the scheduled end time defined in their assigned work schedule.
Example
If an employee's shift is 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM and they check out at 4:30 PM, that's an Early Check-Out — logged with 30 minutes of early-exit hours.
How the Module Works
Records listed
When the policy is enabled, every Early Check-Out record is listed with the early-exit hours calculated per your configuration.
Your choice
Either initiate leave per policy or ignore the record without penalty.
Taking Action on a Record
1
Select the record
From the Early Check-Out tab, select the attendance record you want to address.
2
Choose the action
Click the Action button and pick either Initiate Leave (as per policy) or Ignore.
3
Workflow handles the rest
Once leave is initiated, it's logged in the Leave Request module and follows the configured approval workflow.
Ignore is permanent
Ignored records are removed from the queue and cannot be reverted. Review carefully — if you're unsure, initiate leave (which still follows approval) so the record stays actionable.
On This Screen
Each row shows the employee, date, scheduled end time, actual checkout time, and the early-exit hours. Filter by date range and employee to narrow the queue.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Early Check-Out apply on half-days or flexible shifts?
It applies wherever a scheduled end time exists. For flexible shifts without a fixed end, the system uses the employee's configured core hours.
What if the employee had manager approval to leave early?
Initiate leave as per policy so the approved early exit is documented. Using Ignore removes the record with no trail.
Can an employee dispute an Early Check-Out?
They can raise a regularization request from ESS; that flows into the Attendance Approval queue, not the Finalization queue.
What's the difference between Early Check-Out and Attendance Shortage?
Early Check-Out is about leaving before end time. Shortage is about total hours worked below the daily minimum. A day can trigger one, both, or neither.
